June wrap up

Image
Hello avid readers, It’s been a minute I had exams in June so I had no time to write😭 So I’ll be doing a simple wrap up and this time next week (hopefully)  I’ll have a regular article out… as well as my July wrap-up because the month is drawing to an end.   I have recently gone on my summer holidays and found that the IB does not stop plaguing one even after leaving the school premises.   Anyways jumping right into it.   Books Because of the aforementioned exams, I read a grand total of two books *APPLAUSE* Namely, the 4th and 5th mortal instruments books, and I’ll cut right to the chase ⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰ City of Fallen Angels I think it’s time to admit that I do not know why most of these are called whatever they are. I do not recall any fallen angels in this book.   Anyways I had a fun time reading this.  Following the trend from the last book, I actually liked Jace in this.  (maybe it says something about him that I only like him when he...

May wrap up

Good day, non-existent readers, Guess who’s back, back again, Fade’s back tell a friend (I recently found out that was from an Eminem song). I am back with my promised May wrap-up issue.  I’m going to talk about the books and movies I consumed this month. I originally wanted to also cover webcomics and anime, but that would make this unnecessarily long. Without any further delays, let’s begin. Books Malibu rising was my first read of the month as my duty to the now discontinued #TheNotJessBookClub. I knew absolutely nothing going in but I enjoyed it a lot and would recommend to anyone that enjoyed little fires everywhere because it has similar family and sibling dynamics. The book jumps back and forth in time telling the story of the Riva family, from June and Mick’s first meeting to the present day with the four siblings all grown up at the annual Riva party. The book is divided into two distinct parts, the first telling the family history and the second taking place at the disas...

Losing interest in the MCU

Image
Hello to my non-existent readers, I have recently been rather busy with all sorts But of course, I have time for you guys. I originally had another topic planned for this week However, this one has been coming up in the past few weeks in many conversations I've been having since I published the romcom issue.     That conversation of course surrounds the MCU. Love it or hate it, the MCU has defined most of Gen z’s cinema experiences and has managed to be the main talking point when discussing movies for well over a decade. Depending on who you are, you may see the fuel and hype the MCU once had fading.  I mean  it certainly isn’t the same as it was (queue the harry styles) . There are tons of factors contributing to this, and I plan to explore them today and look back in retrospect to what really drew us all in.

Romantic comedies are the best genre

Hello readers I had some trouble coming up with today’s issue. As seen in the previous issue, I   was   going to talk about stories that celebrate storytelling. However i discovered what i really meant was stories that celebrate imagination. It had been months since I read the books I wanted to talk about  and thanks to the rapid rate at which i read and my goodreads goal, i had forgotten the majority of the plots. Recounting the plots was seeming like it would warrant a full reread of like 4 books, which i have no time for. Thus the idea was scrapped. But that’s all besides the point because i turned to my one comfort in life (this is a stretch) Romantic comedies 😁 •̩̩͙˚⁺‧. •̩̩͙˚⁺‧.˚ •̩̩͙ ✩. •̩̩͙˚⁺‧. •̩̩͙*˚⁺‧. ˚ *•̩̩͙ ✩. •̩̩͙˚⁺‧. •̩̩͙˚⁺‧.˚ •̩̩͙ ✩. •̩̩͙˚⁺‧. •̩̩͙*˚⁺‧. ˚ *•̩̩͙ ✩. I am nothing if not a romantic, and i’m so serious.   If you think deeply enough about it, romantic comedies   are the best genre in everything. Books, comics, movies,   tv shows, a...
